ASHEVILLE – Sherri Howard, a fifth-grade teacher at Koontz Intermediate School, was recently recognized as the Mix 96.5 Teacher of the Year. Morning show hosts Tammy & Dex surprised Howard during a school assembly, delivering more than $5,500 in prizes, according to a news release.
