Educators from across North Carolina attend Solution and Planning Team program

Educators from across North Carolina have joined us for a Solution and Planning Teams program this week in Cullowhee. We appreciate them being with us and can't wait to hear what they do in their schools. More about who they are and what they are doing below.

Stokes County Schools, Elementary Instructional Coach Team: This team will plan for the 2016-17 school year by delving in to pacing guides to ensure appropriate pacing and inclusion of standards for all subject areas in K-5. They will also begin the planning process for upcoming professional development activities.

Alamance-Burlington Schools Public Information Office, Davidson County Schools, NC, Rockingham County Schools and Thomasville City Schools, Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Planning and Development - NC MTSS is a multi-tiered framework which promotes school improvement through engaging, research-based, academic and behavioral practices. This model integrates instruction and intervention at the level appropriate for all students. This team, consisting of representatives from four counties, will develop a systematic plan for continued implementation of this model for upcoming school years.

Tuscola High School, Haywood County Schools, Restructuring the High School Counseling Program Based on the Evaluation Tool Used for School Counselors - This team's goals include: 1) restructuring a comprehensive planning calendar, 2) restructuring duties for each school counselor to provide better services to students, faculty, and parents. 3) looking at the Counseling Center as a whole and ways to incorporate other faculty into the plan, and 4) determining which competencies based on the evaluation tool that they need to work on.
