Mount Airy City School teacher ready for Day 1 of school after NCCAT program

Nothing pleases us more than when we hear from educators about what coming to NCCAT has meant to them. We are glad that Melissa Phillips, a third grade teacher at Jones Intermediate School in the Mount Airy City School district, wrote us about her experience at our Ocracoke campus.

“I just want to comment on the wonderful sessions from last week (Developing Reading Comprehension in the Early Grades).  It was so insightful and refreshing to have information from the source of our accountability.  After some thoughtful reflection on last week's sessions, I feel like I have been equipped to begin the new school year with valuable information I can use from Day 1.  I also feel like I have a bank of resources for those times when I'm wondering what is the best course of action.  It was a nice to get the information first-hand from the DPI consultants."

Best wishes to Melissa this school year. We hope you will check out our literacy programs and other offerings from NCCAT and joining this year!
