NCCAT Senior Literacy Specialist Amy Jo Spencer recently led the "Integrating Content and Digital Literacy in the 90-Minute Literacy Block" program at Central Elementary School in Elizabeth City.
Teachers were investigating "Text Sets" as a way to integrate ELA and Social Studies/Science Standards into the 90 minute literacy block. Teachers spent time exploring digital sites and activities to enhance instruction by having students use technology to research topics. They also discussed ways students can create, produce, and publish their new learning using technology.
