Unique professional development offering from NCCAT, Centropa and Duke University

Dear Educators,

We are excited to invite you to apply for a unique professional development opportunity that will allow you to benefit from the resources and expertise of three prestigious organizations. Together, the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT), Centropa, and Duke University's Council for European Studies (CES), are partnering to sponsor a winter seminar February 13-16, 2015, at Duke University.

The NCCAT sessions (descriptions coming soon) will take place starting in the late afternoon of Friday, February 13 through noon on Saturday, February 14. The Centropa sessions will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 14 and conclude at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 16. During the Centropa sessions, you will be immersed in 20th-century European Jewish history, digital storytelling, Holocaust education, and conversations about how to make your classroom a global classroom. Learning from veteran Centropa educators, you will hear about cross-cultural projects between US and European schools, creative pedagogies using the latest technology, and student-directed projects that meet state and Common Core standards.
