Warren County teacher receives NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship

Erin Simons of Vaughn Elementary School with Warren County has been named the Richard L. Thompson NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship recipient.

Beginning his career as a classroom teacher and coach, the breadth and scope of Dr. Thompson's work includes service as a North Carolina principal and district superintendent, a state superintendent of education in Mississippi, and as a vice president in the University of North Carolina General Administration. Fortunately for NCCAT, he has also served as NCCAT's Executive Director from 1992-1994 and severed in the role again from 2013-2015.

Great work Erin! She is pictured with NCCAT faculty member Dr. Ernest Johnson at the Motivating Disengaged Students program at Ocracoke.
