What is EdCamp? Find out Saturday

This Saturday NCCAT is excited to host EdCamp WNC. Many educators have experienced EdCamp before, but some have not. We're glad by working with our partners to bring this type of professional development to Western North Carolina.

Last year more than 120 educators attended EdCamp Elon. An Elon News Service press release has this description of EdCamp - "Launched in 2010, "Edcamps" are a grassroots model of professional learning that has become increasingly popular in recent years. More than 500 Edcamps have now been held according to the Edcamp Foundation's website. Unlike traditional conferences with schedules set months in advance, Edcamps have an agenda created by the participants at the start of the event. Sessions are meant to be discussion based and build upon the shared expertise present in the room."

Stapleton writes of EdCamp: "This “unconference” allows participants to set the session agenda and engage in informal conversations. This is a fabulous way to learn and share with others and to continue my own professional development."
