NCCAT’s Beginning Teachers Program

One-third of the teachers in the United States leave the profession after three years and nearly half leave by the fifth year. To quell this loss of talent in North Carolina schools, NCCAT conducts professional development programming designed for our state’s beginning teachers.

NCCAT’s Beginning Teachers Program:

  • “Success from the Start: How to Survive and Thrive Your First Three Years in the Classroom,” is a residential program for teachers in their first, second, or third year of teaching.

These programs are designed to reinforce essential skills for good teaching, strengthen instructional practices in the classroom, and build professional networks. The results are improved skill levels and effectiveness of new teachers.

How to Apply for an NCCAT Beginning Teachers Program

  • Select no more than three programs for which you would like to be considered.
  • Complete the application form and submit it electronically. If you choose, you may print the paperwork and submit it by fax or email. Once your completed application is received and approved, NCCAT will email notification of your placement status to you and to your principal/director.

Please contact Teacher Services if you have faxed your application and have not received a response within two weeks.
