Planet Wetlands: Living Marshlands of the Outer Banks

Teachers from across the state had an opportunity to learn about North Carolina’s wetlands, exploring the unique nature of these wetland habitats while investigating their critical importance to the environment. In collaboration with NCCAT and the North Carolina Coastal Federation, teachers witnessed an established natural marshland and assisted with a marsh restoration project. Participants shared that this firsthand experience helped them better understand ways to relate the importance of these coastal habitats to their students.
