We are writing you in fervent support of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. We are both high school math teachers in Raleigh, NC with very different levels of experience. Sara has been teaching for 26 years, and I (Austin) am in my 3rd year. Both of us have found NCCAT to be a rejuvenating, innovative learning center that provides teachers with incredible opportunities. We have both improved our craft by attending conferences at NCCAT and have therefore enhanced the instruction that we deliver to our students. NCCAT makes North Carolina stand out. For a state that is NOT well known for its compensation of teachers, NCCAT is something that sets this state apart. Please continue to support this vital organization, and do not allow more damage to the state's public schools system. We, our colleagues, and our students need MORE opportunities to learn innovative tools of the trade, so please don't allow this asset to disappear. Provide NCCAT with the funds necessary to continue serving the teachers of North Carolina so well.
