What is Teacher-Scholar-in-Residence Program?
The Teacher-Scholar-in-Residence Program offers a short-term, usually five days, residential study and research opportunity. Teachers who are pursuing projects of outstanding intellectual or artistic promise are invited to apply. Collaborative proposals from small groups of up to five teachers also may be considered. Preference is given to teachers with outstanding proposals who are applying to the program for the first time.
Informative group sessions are optional
Most teachers appreciate the uninterrupted time at NCCAT to pursue their individual study and research. However, several optional group sessions during the week provide opportunities to learn about grant writing, publishing, software, and other topics.
How to Apply?
You must complete an NCCAT
Application and Teacher-Scholar proposal:

Scholar Project Proposal .
Upon receipt of both the above forms, the Teacher-Scholar committee, including
members of the NCCAT staff and practicing North Carolina teachers, review and
select all proposals. Then, you will be
scheduled for the program
Who is Eligible for Teacher Scholar in Residence Program?
Teachers, Media Specialists, and School Counselors/Psychologists who have been working in North Carolina Public School system for at least 3 years.
When is the Teacher Scholar in Residence Program Offered?
The Teacher-Scholar-in-Residence Program is offered several times during the year. Up to 23 participants are selected for each five-day session, and available dates usually are announced several months in advance.
