1. General duties of the Position:

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is responsible for providing high quality professional learning through residential, regional, school-based, and online programming for North Carolina school teachers.  This position is responsible for providing grounds maintenance for the Cullowhee campus.  Additional duties as assigned. 

Description of Work.

Landscape Maintenance – Mowing, trimming, planting, weed control, fertilizing, pruning, mulching, site/soil preparation, debris removal. Operating mowers, string trimmers and specialty tools associated with large landscape maintenance.

 

 

 

2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and COMPETENCIES:

Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift and carry 50-70 pounds for extended periods of time including transporting goods up and down flights of stairs. Must be able to walk, stand and stoop for extended periods of time. Able to follow written and oral directions. Prefer knowledge of landscape maintenance, general cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Must be able to meet and interact with the public in a courteous and effective manner. Must hold a valid NC driver’s license and able to pass a criminal background check.

 

 

 

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:

 

Experience: Experience working with general public in an educational setting preferred.

 

 

4. Pay

 

$15.00 an hour with a weekly maximum of 20 hours.
