NCCAT alumna makes video for Follett Challenge

NCCAT alumna Allison Stewart is a third grade teacher at Frank Porter Graham School in Chapel Hill. She and another educator have written a grant in hopes of winning some money for the school library.

Arts Integration Registration Open

We hope you will join us for "Promoting Learning and Literacy Through Arts Integration" in Cullowhee. Although this program is designed for K–5 educators, any and all pre K-12 public school educators including those specializing in the Arts subject area and/or teacher leaders for arts integration in the curriculum are welcomed to register for this seminar that is being offered on both the Cullowhee and Ocracoke campus in 2015.

Student letter touches NCCAT Center Fellow

NCCAT Center Fellow and author Donna Glee Williams was thrilled last week to receive a letter from Dominique Medford (of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC) about the impact her YA fantasy novel on this young reader. “From reading The Braided Path,” Dominique wrote, “I’ve learned many things. Following your heart is the easiest - and the hardest - thing to do. Once you commit to your desires, though, everything else around you begins to fall into place. If you don’t follow your heart, you will probably never get the chance to end up where you wish to be.

#WeRemember International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Today we mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and #WeRemember the genocide that resulted in the death of an estimated 6 million Jews.

On January 27, 1945, Soviet forces liberated the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, discovering the largest Nazi killing center in Europe. Auschwitz has become a symbol of the Holocaust, representing the depths of man's inhumanity to man.
