Burke County teachers develop reading intervention activities while at NCCAT

NCCAT is honored to have Burke County Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Putnam and a team from Burke County with us in Cullowhee for a Teacher Leadership program. Thank you to them for being with us this week!

Middle Grades ELA: Teaching Beyond the EOG at NCCAT

Thank you to these teachers from across North Carolina for being with us for "Middle Grades ELA: Teaching Beyond the EOG." Teachers are engaging in and crafting their own language arts activities that engage both the child and the budding adult in each of their students. Activities will address reading, writing, thinking, speaking and listening skills. We appreciate these educators being with us and look forward to keeping in touch!

NCCAT alum helps create literacy program

Sandra McMahan is an educator and an NCCAT alum. She is also the mother of members of the tremendous band Mountain Faith, which has appeared on "America’s Got Talent" among other honors. The group and Sandra have a wonderful new program that is working to help students write creatively and discover the importance and benefits of quality writing. More about it at the link below.

Total Solar Eclipse training

On Monday afternoon, August 21, 2017, all of North Carolina will experience a partial solar eclipse. A sliver of the western part of the state will experience a total solar eclipse for approximately two and a half minutes.

Happy Digital Learning Day! Every day is Digital Learning Day at NCCAT. And one of the key parts of that is Canvas Training which is taught by a certified Canvas trainer Elizabeth Joyce.
