Join this NCCAT Online course to learn how to create essential questions in order to make your students succeed inside and outside the classroom. Today, literacy is about making sense of and engaging reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Questions provide the opportunity to interact with print and non-print text to figure out the deeper meaning of what is being read. The role of questioning is essential to any classroom. When instruction is organized around meaningful questions, students are engaged and understanding becomes more focused.

Participants in the NCCAT program "The Maker Mindset" have continued the learning with a Facebook group after the event in Cullowhee May 7-10.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s had its good points and bad. I remember summers where my mom would tell me to go out and play and be home before the streetlights came on at night. We would be gone all day, no cell phones, parents knew we were safe and we would play outside all day long. We did not have video games, we made up games to play with our friends and occupied ourselves. Those are the good memories. 

Teachers from across North Carolina have been living the math life with NCCAT this week. Participants have been taking part in two programs at Cullowhee.
