Teachers join NCCAT For Success From the Start in Ocracoke

Thank you to these teachers who are with us for "Success From the Start: How to Survive and Thrive Your First Three Years in the Classroom" in Ocracoke. Through experiential learning, teachers will explore pedagogical concerns including differentiated instruction, brain-compatible teaching, assessment, the effect of poverty on achievement and behavior, and classroom management. Become a Google for Education Certified Innovator in 2019

Very interesting information about how to become a Google for Education Certified Innovator in 2019.

From Google blog - The Google for Education Certified Innovator Program supports educators in developing new projects for their classrooms and school districts.Members participate in a year-long mentorship program that begins with workshops called Innovator Academies where teachers, coaches and Google experts learn from each other. Today, applications for the 2019 Innovator Academies are open.

"Immersive Digital Learning in the English, History and Science Classroom" program at NCCAT

We appreciate these teachers joining us for "Immersive Digital Learning in the English, History, and Science Classroom" in Cullowhee. Teachers have learned how to create a learning space where digital tools are seamlessly integrated. They have investigated a variety of digital tools and seen example lessons for the English/language arts, history, and science classrooms. Thank you for being with us!

New NCCAT employee - Lucretia King

NCCAT welcomes Lucretia King! She is our new Program Associate. Lucretia has 24 years of experience including in the Air Force, university system, and with non-profits. Her most recent position was as Program Coordinator for AmeriCorps Partnership to End Homelessness at The Servant Center in Greensboro, NC. She also earned her Master’s degree in Adult Education from Appalachian State University.
