ASHEVILLE - Two Western North Carolina teachers were selected to take part in the 2016 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Tara Teague teaches fifth-grade at North Windy Ridge, and Sherry Coren is a fifth-grader teacher at Hendersonville Elementary.
The two joined other fifth-grade teachers for the one-week, all-expense paid professional development opportunity in July.
