Teachers integrating coding skills into their curriculum with NCCAT

Computer science drives job growth and innovation throughout our economy and society. According to Code.org: computing occupations make up two-thirds of all projected new jobs in STEM fields, making Computer Science one of the most in-demand college degrees. Most students, however, do not have the opportunity to learn coding.

Jackson County Robotics teams demonstrate work for teachers at NCCAT

Thank you to the Smoky Mountain Robotics team along with Cullowhee Valley School and Fairview School from Jackson County Public Schools, NC for some great demonstrations this week at NCCAT for teachers!

They were here for the program - "Lego Robotics 2.0."

Cumberland County teacher honored at NCCAT

Congratulations to Rebecca Dean, a teacher at Reid Ross Classical School in the Cumberland County Schools district. She received the NCCAT Honored Educator C. Fletcher Womble Jr. Scholarship while with us for "Exploring Literacy through Science and History" in Ocracoke. Rebecca is pictured with presenters from the program. This scholarship honors Dr. C. Fletcher Womble Jr. who was raised in the Piedmont area of North Carolina and spent 35 years in public education.
