Moving from Consumers to Creators: Empowering Digital Generation at Ocracoke

Thank you to teachers from across North Carolina who joined us for "Moving from Consumers to Creators: Empowering Digital Generation" at Ocracoke. They have been using multiple apps in conjunction (app-smashing) to create a final product. Teachers are learning to seamlessly integrate applications to make standards-based learning fun and interactive. Great job! Hope to see them again soon!

Our program, BEST PRACTICES FOR MOTIVATING YOUNG READERS in Ocracoke, provided teachers from across the state an opportunity to expand their literacy tool kit with strategies for motivating young reluctant readers. In the program, teachers explored three powerful motivations that drive student reading: (1) interest, (2) dedication, and (3) confidence.
