NCCAT Accepting Applications for Two Faculty Positions

CULLOWHEE—The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching is currently taking applications for two faculty positions.

NCCAT, a recognized national leader in professional development programming for teachers, openings are:

Senior STEM Specialist

The Senior STEM Specialist will plan, design, recruit for, and conduct K–12 programming as assigned in an annual work plan. Programming will be developed to meet current national and state legislation, state and local initiatives, research-based best practices, and center needs. All programming decisions rest ultimately with the Executive Director. Programming will reflect a strong commitment to NCCAT’s mission: to advance teaching as an art and as a profession. The Senior STEM Specialist is responsible for the teaching and administrative tasks associated with center programming.

Senior Mathematics Specialist

The Senior Mathematics Specialist will plan, design, recruit for, and conduct K–12 programming as assigned in an annual work plan. Programming will be developed to meet current national and state legislation, state and local initiatives, research-based best practices, and center needs. All programming decisions rest ultimately with the Executive Director.

Programming will reflect a strong commitment to NCCAT’s mission: to advance teaching as an art and as a profession. The Senior Mathematics Specialist is responsible for the teaching and administrative tasks associated with Center programming.

NCCAT has two campuses, one located in Cullowhee in the state’s southwestern mountains and the other on Ocracoke Island. The home base for this position will be the Cullowhee campus. The Senior STEM Specialist and Senior Mathematics Specialist are required to relocate to the Cullowhee area.
