The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching is seeking applicants for an Executive Assistant.
Salary Grade: NC11

NCCAT, a unit of the State Board of Education, is a year-round residential education center for North Carolina teachers in grades pre-K through 12. The Center provides professional development programs that emphasize intellectual growth, while modeling exemplary teaching. NCCAT programs enhance teaching as an art and as a profession.
This position will provide administrative support to the Executive Director of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. This position will also provide administrative support to the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Academic Officer as needed in the planning, preparation, and follow through of meetings and events. The incumbent must maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding work within the Administrative Unit. Position is responsible for managing on-going and effective communications with key constituents, including the public, the Department of Public Instruction and other North Carolina agencies and entities, school districts and their respective administrators, public school teachers, legislative leaders and liaisons, Board members, and NCCAT staff.
Position will be required to travel overnight to occasional meetings on NCCAT’s Ocracoke Campus. Up to 5% Travel Required.

- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
