CULLOWHEE - Join us on August 19th to begin the school year facilitating number talks with your students. The program is number 14967 "Number Talks: Making it Happen!" in Cullowhee. As students grow in mathematics, their abilities to work flexibly with numbers and communicate their thinking should be routinely practiced.
This one-day program will teach the strategy of number talks, which is a five to fifteen-minute math dialogue designed to grow students’ mental math strategies.
Join us to learn how to effectively facilitate number talks in your classroom setting, structure your lesson schedule to include this valuable routine, and plan your first set of number talks.
This program is designed for K-12 math teachers who are new to number talks.
