Union County educator awarded NCCAT HES Scholarship

Jennifer Mitchell, an Honors and AP English teacher at Cuthbertson High School in Union County Schools, receives NCCAT Scholarship.

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is proud to announce that Jennifer Mitchell, an Honors and AP English teacher at Cuthbertson High School in Union County Schools, has been awarded the NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship (HES) for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Ms. Mitchell is the recipient of the Belk Foundation HES for 2023-2024. She recently participated in the "Unlocking Advanced Learning Differentiation with NC Literacy Instruction Standards" program at NCCAT Cullowhee, which was led by NC Department of Public Instruction presenters Crissy Brown and Kelly Schultz.

The NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship is a distinguished recognition that covers all costs associated with participating in an NCCAT program, including transportation and substitute teacher expenses. Additionally, honored educators receive a $250 grant for use in their classrooms, further enhancing their ability to create impactful learning experiences for their students.

This program offers a unique opportunity for educators to further their professional growth and contribute to the advancement of education in North Carolina.
