Behavioral Interventions that Work program at NCCAT draws teachers across western NC

Teachers at NCCAT in program

More than 100 teachers from across western North Carolina came to the NCCAT campus for the "Amie Dean – Behavioral Interventions that Work" program.

Dean, the Behavior Queen, returned to offer behavior strategies that work. From beginning teacher to veteran, there was something for everyone. The session guided participants in developing a preventative plan for handling issues from low level distractions to more chronic behaviors. Participants reflected on current practices, learned the purpose of behavior, how to respond vs. react, and how to reboot your current systems to support student behavior and GAIN instructional minutes. This was a practical, strategy filled session with concrete steps you can implement immediately to help students.

This workshop is a collaboration between WRESA, Western Carolina University and NCCAT.
