Curriculum and Research Projects

During the first week (or prior to arrival) NEH Scholars should identify a project related to the Institute that they wish to complete (at least in draft form) by the end of the third week. Guidance will be provided by the director and faculty to ensure that the projects are of a manageable scope for the three-week period. Projects may take a variety of forms, from traditional lesson plans, to instructional videos for classroom use, to publishable essays related to some aspect of Institute content. All projects will be shared on the last day of the Institute and will continue to be available through a variety of venues appropriate to the nature of each project.

Office Hours

The Institute director and faculty will post office hours at the beginning of each week. Due to field experiences, the schedule will vary somewhat from one week to the next, making it necessary to vary the time set aside for office hours. Each NEH scholar is expected to schedule a meeting with the director/faculty during the first week of the Institute to discuss her/his proposed project.
