NCCAT hosts #edcampwnc

The mission of Edcamp is to Building communities of empowered educators with a collaborative, participant-driven professional development model.

CULLOWHEE - Educators were able to learn and share during a day of professional development at EdCampWNC Saturday, Oct. 12 at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching.

The mission of Edcamp is to Building communities of empowered educators with a collaborative, participant-driven professional development model.

EdCamps, which began in 2010, are not like a traditional conference with a set schedule determined months ahead of the event. This professional development model has an agenda that is created at the start of the event by the participants to fit their needs. Participants are encouraged to attend sessions that are best for them.

“Love the new Maker Lab at NCCAT! Whiteboard tables, flexible seating, 3D printers, and more! #edcampwnc was awesome. So many new tools to add to my tool box! Thank you to NCCAT for making it happen. Best way to stay connected across North Carolina.” Dr. Julie Stanley, Moore Elementary School, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, wrote on Twitter.
