Beginning teachers can earn an NCCAT Beginning Teacher Badge by completing all 4 sessions in the series. In this session participants will participate in Badge Days 1 and 2 of the series Oct. 30-31 in Cullowhee. Badge Day 1 they will learn about the importance of building professional relationships with all stakeholders as well as strategies for developing appropriate connections with students, maintaining meaningful dialogue with parents, fostering a positive rapport with school staff and community members, and facilitating supportive interactions between students in the classroom. Badge Day 2 will empower teachers to analyze their current classroom management practices and build their skill set to create a flexible and supportive learning environment. Teachers will explore strategies for organization, time management, and consistent implementation of classroom procedures and routines.
