Process

NCCAT BTOY Process:

  • 1. Timeline (see Selection Schedule)
  • 2. Portfolio requirements: completed BTOY application; three letters for reference (administrator, colleague, or parent/guardian); 2 essays completed by the nominee; 2 essays completed by others.
  • 3. Each school district and charter school can choose one nominee.
  • 4. Each Regional Education Service Alliance and DPI Office of Charter Schools will determine three finalists, with a total of 27 regional finalists.
  • 5. Regional finalists will attend a celebration and week of Teacher Leadership at NCCAT's Cullowhee campus February 12-16, 2024.
  • 6. The winner of the NCCAT BTOY will be announced at a celebration event on February 15, 2024.
