If you are struggling to get boys to read, you’re not alone! Boys consistently score lower than girls on most indicators of reading proficiency. Exploring the social, psychological, and developmental reasons why boys lag behind girls provides many clues about the reading materials you can use in your classroom to capture the attention of your struggling male readers. Working within small groups of like-minded teachers, you will research and examine a wide variety of strategies you can take back to your classroom to boost literacy achievement among boys.
