The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) Board of Trustees will convene a meeting at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the NCCAT Cullowhee campus, located at 276 NCCAT Drive, Cullowhee, NC 28723. The purpose of the meeting is to update the Board members on NCCAT’s progress.

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) held its first annual Beginning Teacher Coordinator Institute on March 28 at Guilford Technical Community College. The event brought together representatives from more than 70 school districts across North Carolina for a day of learning and collaboration focused on beginning teachers.

As we have entered the installation phase of the new North Carolina Science Standards, the 8 Science and Engineering Practices lifted by the National Research Council have been identified as the anchor for this shift. This program at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) in Cullowhee May 19-22 will focus on the 8 SEPs and how they can be used to lift our new standards. Lodging, meals and program materials are provided free of charge.
