These North Carolina teachers in grades K–3 have been focusing on developing strategies that link foundational skills to comprehension in the classroom during "Developing Reading Comprehension In The Early Grades" at Ocracoke. Teachers having been preparing to set the stage for comprehension at the listening level for kindergarten students and transition instruction to thinking beyond the text as students move through the early grades. We appreciate them being with us and look forward to what they will be doing in classrooms across the state.
