Process

  1. Timeline (see Selection Schedule)
  2. Portfolio requirements: completed CTE TOY application; three letters of reference (administrator, colleague or parent/ guardian); three essays completed by the nominee.
  3. Each school district and charter school can choose one nominee.
  4. Each Regional Education Service Alliance will determine three finalists, with a total of 24 regional winners.
  5. Regional finalists will attend a celebration and week of Teacher Professional Development at NCCAT’s Cullowhee campus from September 30-October 4. During that time, the NCCAT CTE TOY Selection Committee will review portfolios and interview the 24 finalists.
  6. The winner of the NCCAT CTE TOY will be announced at a celebration event on October 3, 2024.
