CULLOWHEE (November 17, 2015)—Three Morehead City Primary School teachers were already using tools they learned about at NCCAT—even before going back to the classroom. And they plan to keep integrating technology into their Carteret County school.
Lee Taylor, a third-grade teacher; Amanda McCall, a third-grade teacher; and Chantel Williams, a second-grade teacher, all took part in “There's an App for That! Digital Programs Across the Curriculum.”
The program "Bring-Your-Own-Technology: Digital Learning" is coming up soon in Cullowhee. Join us March 10-13 to take part in this learning opportunity.
Following a 2014 that saw major initiatives in digital learning the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching Digital Learning is focused on creating more online resources for educators.
The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching continues to respond to the state initiative of improving digital learning with the appointment of a Senior Digital Learning Specialist.
Virginia Spaventa was able to take information from the "Catching up with your students: Digital Learning" program directly back to Frank Morgan Elementary in Clemmons to help students and parents.

CULLOWHEE (November 18, 2014)—Twenty-one teachers from across North Carolina used Google tools to create, edit and share documents and to collaborate with colleagues after taking part in “Google Tools in Schools” Nov. 3-6. The program was held at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a national leader in professional development.
It is always a great honor to hear how educators take what they've worked on here at NCCAT back into classrooms across the state of North Carolina. We hear these stories each day and can't get enough of them honestly.
NCCAT offers a continuum of professional development unlike any other in the nation, including programs for beginning teachers, interdisciplinary seminars for experienced teachers, and site-based instructional support, including relevant state standards, and leadership training.
Last year NCCAT took part in the "Hour of Code" effort. "The Hour of Code" is an opportunity for every student to try computer science for one hour.
