Union County educator awarded NCCAT HES Scholarship

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is proud to announce that Jennifer Mitchell, an Honors and AP English teacher at Cuthbertson High School in Union County Schools, has been awarded the NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship (HES) for the 2023-2024 academic year. Ms. Mitchell is the recipient of the Belk Foundation HES for 2023-2024. She recently participated in the "Unlocking Advanced Learning Differentiation with NC Literacy Instruction Standards" program at NCCAT Cullowhee, which was led by NC DPI presenters Crissy Brown and Kelly Schultz.

Shanna Good Awarded NCCAT Lynda Petty Honored Educator Scholarship for 2023-2024

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is proud to announce Shanna Good, a Math and ELA Teacher at Trinity Middle School in Randolph County Schools, as the recipient of the NCCAT Lynda Petty Honored Educator Scholarship for the 2023-2024 period. The NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship covers all expenses related to participation in an NCCAT program, including program materials, instruction, food, lodging, transportation, and substitute teacher costs. Additionally, the honored educator receives a $250 grant for use in their classroom. Applications for the 2024-2025 NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarships are currently open until April 30th.

Pamlico County teachers receive NCCAT George Brinson Honored Educator Scholarships

This esteemed scholarship recognizes and celebrates the outstanding contributions of educators who embody the spirit of George Brinson, an ardent advocate for public schools. Iredell-Statesville Schools educator receives NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship

Congratulations to Kinsi King of South Iredell High School in Iredell-Statesville Schools on receiving the NCCAT Richard L. Thompson Honored Educator Scholarship.The scholarship provides travel and money to use in the classroom. NCCAT helps North Carolina teachers grow in knowledge, skills, compassion, and professionalism so that students become engaged, self-motivated, and successful.

Martin County teacher receives NCCAT Scholarship

Congratulations to Paige Hart of Rodgers Elementary School in the Martin County Schools NC district on receiving the NCCAT Eugene and Jean Rogers Honored Educator Scholarship. It allows the Martin County Teacher of the Year to attend an NCCAT program of his or her choice. The scholarship covers all costs associated with your participation in an NCCAT program including: instruction; food and lodging on the NCCAT campus; program materials; travel to and from the campus from the teacher’s home and payment for the substitute teacher while they attend NCCAT.

Honored Education Scholarship Application Process Open

Applications for 2022 are now being accepted. Please complete your application by April 30, 2022. Honored Educator Scholarships (HES) provide an opportunity for selected teachers to attend an NCCAT seminar of their choice. An HES covers all costs associated with participation in a five-day NCCAT seminar, including program materials, instruction, food, lodging, transportation, and substitute teacher.  The honored educator also receives $250 for use in the classroom.
