Congratulations to Sara-Elizabeth (Sallie) Senseney (right) of Mountain Heritage High School in the Yancey County school district. She received the Marjorie T. and John S. Britt NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship! Ms. Senseney attended "Supporting Instructional Coaches to Lead the Way" at our Cullowhee campus.

NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship Applications open

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching  (NCCAT) is happy to announce the opening of the 2021-2022 NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship application.  The Honored Educator Scholarship Program pays tribute to outstanding educators and individuals whose teaching or influence in public education has made a positive difference in the lives of others.  For a list of scholarships available to North Carolina Teachers, visit https://www.nccat.org/programs/honored-educator-schola

Application Deadline Extended for Frye Honored Educator Scholarship

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching is currently taking applications from foreign language or ESL teachers for the Luz M. Frye Honored Educator Scholarship (HES) for FY 2018–2019.

Normally, applications are taken from January 1 thru April 30th. However, due to a lack of applications from foreign language or ESL teachers for academic year 2018–2019 the deadline has been extended.

NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship Program Application Process Open

CULLOWHEE—NCCAT's Honored Educator Scholarship (HES) program pays tribute to outstanding educators and individuals by providing scholarship funds in their names. Scholarship funds can be named in honor of classroom teachers, coaches, administrators, school board members, or community volunteers—anyone whose teaching or influence in public education has made a positive difference in the lives of others. Each fully endowed scholarship is awarded annually to a North Carolina teacher based on criteria determined by the scholarship benefactor.
