Congratulations to Laura Griffith on receiving the NCCAT Luz M. Frye Honored Educator Scholarship! Ms. Griffith is the Spanish teacher for all grades at Fuguay-Varinia Middle School in Wake County. This scholarship was established in honor of Luz Frye who taught Spanish in Wake County for thirty years.
Swain County Teacher receives Deitz NCCAT HES scholarship
Congratulations to Trudi Gunter of Swain County Middle School in Swain County on receiving the Boyce T. Deitz NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarship. This scholarship honors a native of Jackson County, Boyce T. Deitz, who graduated from Sylva-Webster High School and attended Western Carolina University. Upon graduation, he gained immediate local respect by returning to Sylva-Webster to coach.
