NCCAT Program Allows Pre-Kindergarten Teachers Opportunity to Collaborate

CULLOWHEE—Teachers from across North Carolina were able to explore aspects of daily schedule, classroom community, executive functioning, developmentally appropriate best practices, growth mindset and authentic assessment during “NC PreK: Oral Language is Reading Readiness” in Cullowhee Nov. 13–16.

Wilson County Instructional Coach Finds Value in NCCAT Program

OCRACOKE—Wilson County School Improvement Coach Bryan Holley found “Coaching The Coach: Building and Empowering Teacher Capacity” to be exactly the type of professional development he had been looking for.

“What a wonderful time it has been collaborating and learning with this awesome group of educational leaders,” he wrote on Twitter. “NCCAT’s ‘Coaching the Coach’ session is simply amazing!”

Teachers Talk About the #NCCATimpact

CULLOWHEE—Participants who took part in high-quality professional development at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching,  a recognized national leader in professional development programming for teachers, are sharing about the experience on social media.

Teachers have been using the Twitter hashtag #NCCATimpact to share what they have done with NCCAT programs since they returned to the classroom.

Focus Friday: NCCAT Literacy Badge available

Cullowhee, NC

CULLOWHEE—The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching will begin a five-session series of one day professional learning programs to enable teachers to earn an NCCAT Literacy Badge. Attend all five and earn the badge or attend individual sessions of your choice based on interest and need. The programs will be at the NCCAT Cullowhee campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays from November through February.

NCCAT Spring Registration Open

CULLOWHEE—North Carolina educators have several opportunities from February through June to attend the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT), a recognized national leader in professional development programming for teachers.

Registration for these programs is open now. Applicants are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure a spot. Programs are available to North Carolina educators at the Cullowhee and Ocracoke campuses, online and with NCCAT faculty visiting school districts.
